Homage to Gustav Klimt

from $650.00

This photograph was taken at a NYC soirée of a burlesque dancer who drew inspiration for her costume from Gustav Klimt’s two paintings: portrait of Adele Block and The Kiss. The photo was taken in a dark space with ligth falling only on the dancer, which allowed the photo artist to use motion, alongside color, as central focal points for the picture.

Gustav Klimt was a symbolist painter and a founding member of the Secession-style in early twentieth century Austria. His work helped define the Art Nouveau style of the era. This photo pays tribute to Klimt’s art and legacy through the merger of painting and photography, a signature feature of Ildiko Tillmann’s work.

To better preserve the painterly aspect of this piece, it is only available as canvas print. Limited edition, 50 available. Arrives signed and numbered.

Canvas print, the painterly choice. This print medium foregrounds the painterly aspect of the piece, creating a classic effect. Frameless for a free-flowing organic canvas feel, or with black float-frame for a finished, curated look. Museum-grade canvas stretched over 1,5 inch wood structure. Comes ready to hang.

Available with a simple, black float-frame for a gallery-inspired look.

If you need a specific size that isn't listed or have a custom design request in mind, I would love to help.
